We trialled this in summer and just four teams raised over £7,000 for the Foundation! Activities included a 12 hour danceathon, tandem sky dive, gin and boogie night and a sponsored all over wax!
We give teams of up to 5 people a £250 seed fund . Your mission is to turn this £250 into £1,000.
There’s so many activities to take part in but the choice is completely yours! But, if you’re struggling for ideas, please find some suggestions/ inspiration below
- Buying places in a local running race e.g Round Sheffield Run and getting sponsorship from friends and family via Just Giving.
- Setting up a Wimbledon style tournament with friends, family and colleagues and charging to enter and selling strawberry cream teas and Pimm’s cocktails.
- Holding a curry and drinks night – score a venue for free, use your seed funding to pay for a takeaway curry (you might be able to get a discount!) and some drinks and sell tickets for £30 to friends and family. You only need 34 people to come to raise over £1,000!
- Utilise the practical skills of a team member to design something unique with the seed funding and sell it as limited editions
- Organising a glitzy cocktail night where a team member becomes a mixologist for the evening and you sell tickets for cocktails and sharing boards!
- Firing up yours or a friend’s pizza oven for the evening and sell tickets for wood fired pizza, gelato and limoncello cocktail to friends and family.
- Organise an outdoor film night. Buy or hire a projector, show a film and sell packages for film, popcorn and drinks. Maybe have some comfy sharing sofas at the front where you can charge a premium!
- Hold a traditional sports day in a local park. Teams/individuals pay to enter races and ask local businesses to provide prizes for winners. Sell drinks and food to make even more money!
- Organise a ‘Race around the UK’ event. See how far you can travel from Sheffield for £250 as a team. Ask for sponsorship from friends and family on JustGiving and use collecting tins to raise money as you go! To make it more interesting, why not go head to head with another team or go individually with £50. We can help with card payment apps on your phones to collect donations
